Psychologist in Supervised Practice

Dr. Jenna Cripps (she/her) is a Psychologist in Supervised Practice. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, where she also completed her Master’s degree. Her predoctoral internship was at the University of Ottawa’s Centre for Psychological Services and Research and the Ottawa Institute of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Dr. Cripps’ primary theoretical orientation is cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) but she also integrates mindfulness-based interventions and acceptance and commitment therapy when appropriate. Treatment plans and goals are determined collaboratively and are tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Dr. Cripps provides assessment and treatment for a variety of presenting problems including mood and anxiety disorders (e.g., generalized anxiety, specific phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, sleep problems, as well as trauma and stress. She provides services to adults aged 18 years and older. Dr. Cripps has worked with individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds and is a 2SLGBTQIA+ affirming therapist.

Dr. Cripps’ distinctions include: 1) 2015-2016 Masters Level Canadian Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), 2) 2016-2018 Doctoral Level Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), 3) 2017 Marleen Biggs Memorial Award, and 4) 2018-2021 Doctoral Level Canadian Graduate Scholarship from the SSHRC.
