Mina Pichtikova

Mina Pichtikova is a PhD student in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. Mina earned her Master of Arts in Clinical and Counselling Psychology from OISE and her Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour from McMaster University. She is currently completing her practicum placement at Sageview Health.
Mina’s clinical training includes practicum placements at the OISE Psychology Clinic and the Thompson Anxiety Disorder Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences. At the OISE Psychology Clinic, she conducted psychoeducational assessments and provided individual psychotherapy for adults with various concerns, including mood, anxiety, fertility treatment, and attention deficit disorder. At Sunnybrook, she conducted assessments and provided therapy for adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder and co-morbid conditions, including depression, borderline personality disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Additionally, Mina has worked at St. Joseph’s Healthcare, providing trauma assessments and treatment, and in private practice, conducting diagnostic assessments for insurance purposes. At Sageview Health, Mina offers both individual therapy and assessment, and couples counselling, addressing diverse client needs.
Mina utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the unique needs of her clients, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. Her areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Mina is dedicated to cultivating a foundation of trust, openness, and empathy—with both individual and couple clients—where each client feels heard and valued. By focusing on personalized care and collaborative goal-setting, Mina empowers clients to uncover their strengths and resilience.
Mina has received several distinctions, including the S. Leonard Syme Research Training Award in Work and Health, the Ontario Graduate Scholarship, and the Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as trauma and sexual and gender minority mental health.
