Nabeela Marzook (MSW, RSW), is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) (Reg #835414) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Nabeela obtained her master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from The University of Toronto, where she completed the Advanced Standing Program and Specialized in Children and their Families. Nabeela also has a Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) and Bachelors of Sociology (BA) from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
Nabeela is experienced in providing psychotherapy and psychoeducation for clients with serious physical and mental health challenges. Nabeela is trained in a variety of counseling modalities, including Trauma Informed Therapies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Emotion Focused Therapy, Strenghth-Based Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Nabeela has dedicated her career to supporting children, youth, families, and adults of various diverse racial, religious, ethnic backgrounds and different life experiences. She has a breadth of experience and knowledge from working in the fields of accessibility & disability services, domestic violence, housing and homeless prevention services and she now specializes in mental health, addictions, and counseling. She supports individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, motor vehicle trauma, interpersonal relationships, self-esteem and racial identity.
In addition to this, Nabeela works full-time as a Clinical Social Worker in the emergency department at a community-based hospital in the Scarborough Community. She works for the Mobile Community Crisis Team which requires her to work as a consult service in the emergency department, provide short-term brief counseling through outpatient services, and provide mobile home support for patients living with chronic and acute mental health diagnoses. Nabeela frequently works alongside emergency physicians and the psychiatry team to conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, assist in community & service resource linkage, and support physicians in discharge planning. She is responsible for supporting patients who live with substance use challenges, alcoholism, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and traumatic loss among various other mental health and biopsychosocial issues.
Nabeela is a warm, direct, and collaborative professional who exercises excellent listening skills and a deep sense of empathy. She has a profound passion for helping guide individuals in identifying the strengths they have within themselves to help curate a more purposeful and healthy life. She hopes to help support individuals in their healing journey, by encouraging them to nurture the inner spirit within and to honor themselves first and foremost. Nabeela is a big advocate for self-care, and personally loves health and wellness, the outdoors, cooking and spending meaningful time with the special people in her life. She is dedicated to working by your side as you take the steps to grow into your highest self.
