Iman Musani
Supervised Therapist
Iman Musani is a PhD student in Clinical and Counselling Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. Prior to beginning her doctoral program, she completed her Master of Arts in Clinical and Counselling Psychology and her Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Toronto. She is currently completing her practicum placement at Sageview Health in the Young Adult DBT Program. Iman’s previous clinical placements took place at the OISE Psychology Clinic, where she conducted psychoeducational assessments and individual psychotherapy for young adults with a range of concerns, and at the Toronto Western Hospital, where she conducted psychodiagnostic assessments in the Bariatric Surgery Program.
Iman believes therapy is a deeply collaborative process and she strives to create a safe environment for clients to work towards understanding their experiences and meeting their therapy goals. She utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of modalities to meet the needs of each individual client. Iman is passionate about understanding and addressing structural barriers to mental wellness for youth and young adults, particularly those who belong to marginalized communities. Her research in this area has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
