Isabelle Hau
Practicum Student Therapist
Isabelle is a PhD student in the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology program at the University of Guelph. She has experience conducting psychoeducational assessments and psychotherapy with youth and their families through the Maplewoods Centre for Family Therapy and Child Psychology, the Upper Grand District School Board, and under the supervision of Dr. Angela McHolm. At Sageview, Isabelle will be providing assessment and therapy services to children, adolescents, and their families.
As a therapist, Isabelle uses evidence-based and formulation-driven approaches to best meet clients’ goals and values. Isabelle draws upon multiple modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)/Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). She has experience supporting clients with a range of concerns including anxiety, emotion regulation, and behavioural concerns. Regardless of the modality, Isabelle upholds an affirming, empowering, and safe space for a diversity of clients including members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, racialized groups, and neurodivergent individuals.
Isabelle’s has received SSHRC funding and has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her dissertation research centers around supporting parents of youth who self-injure.
Overall, Isabelle is dedicated to providing a compassionate and supportive space for youth and their families as they work together towards meaningful growth and change.
